Ernest Williams has been cooking Mama Faye’s barbecue recipe for his friends and family for years. Upon retirement from his career as a peace officer in Big Rock, Texas, Ernest and his wife Francine moved to Dallas. One afternoon he was discovered by a commercial developer who followed her nose to find Ernest cooking on a small smoker hitched to the back of his truck. After tasting the goods she encouraged him to open up a brick and mortar space in one of her buildings in Deep Ellum.
In the summer of 2015, Mama Faye's relocated to Sulphur Springs, Texas in a beautiful building in downtown.
